this morning." >>> a deadly end overnight to a standoff in louisiana. police say a mentally unstable man took three people hostage in the small river town of st. joseph. now, a look at the violent end to the siege. incredible video from louisiana showing a sinkhole swallowing trees whole yesterday. you can see trees moving very slowly -- and then the momentum carries and down they go into the water. finally they disappear. according to officials, the sinkhole opened last august. and it has been growing ever since. incredible. >> amazing video there. >>> this afternoon they are having a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new facility at the oakland zoo. the biodiversity center is devoted to conserving endangered and threatened animals, plants and habitats. one thing it will do is take care of young animals until they can make it on their own. >> we'll be raising some of these animals from, in the frogs' cases, tadpoles up to juveniles and adults before we let them back into the wild. and this will give them a better chance after surviving their natural predators. >> the oakland zoo is working with the san francisco zoo and sonoma state university on a program to research, raise and release western pond turtles back into the wild. the center will not be open to the public. >>> it's time to eat now. we're talki
